In this guide I explain how to disassemble an Acer Aspire 5745 series laptop (I’m taking apart Acer Aspire 5745G-6726).
The guide might work for some other Acer Aspire models. If it works for you, please mention the laptop model number in the comments.
I’ll go though the following major disassembly steps:
STEP1-4: Removing hard drive, memory. Accessing CMOS battery and wireless card.
STEP 5-11: Disconnecting and removing keyboard.
STEP 12-15: Removing top cover assembly.
STEP 16-21: Disconnecting and removing laptop display panel.
STEP 22-25: Removing laptop motherboard.
STEP 26-27: Accessing laptop cooling fan and DC jack harness.

In the following guide I explain how to remove the LCD screen and inverter board from an Acer TravelMate 8100 laptop.
I’m taking it apart because the screen backlight went off. The laptop still turns on but the image on the screen is very dim.
From my experience I know that most likely it’s either bad inverter or failed backlight lamp inside the screen.
In the following guide I’ll show how to remove and access both parts and also show some basic troubleshooting technique.
